ABOUT ME

Photographer: Stenning

Hello! I am Mary Wills. I am an author, poet, artist and many other tiles. I have always wanted to be a writer since I was eight years old. Only with dyslexia and dyspraxia it was a struggle. I did not learn to read till I was nine years old.

Once I was able to read, it became my life. I consumed books like it was a life line. Like I had been missing out on so much. Some of my childhood books were Wolf Brother series by Michelle Paver, Darren Shan series by Darren Shan (Who I have met and is very lovely), a small amount of Percy Jackson (Still have no finished that series, sorry). In my adult life Wolf Brother and Darren Shan are still hands down my favourite series with Hunger Games. I read a mixture of books from non-fiction to fictional to historical fiction.

I do work as a model, when my PTSD is not being a monster and making me want to curl up. I have done this since 2025.

These photos are only a small amount of who I have modelled. I do consider myself an actor, I just have not done a lot with that. But do keep an eye out for my TV show called Game of Sins, as we have a fantastic cast!

I have PTSD due to be sexually assaulted when I was sixteen. Of course, that has had a profound effect on my life and it has not been good in some ways. A lot of my books have this theme within them as one it helps me to heal slightly and hopefully it can help someone else in the long run.

As for my books- I will not write about them here as you will find seperate pages on them!

But a little about me and my religion!

I was baptized a Catholic, as I do come from a family with Catholic and Evangelical religions. Irish and American sides. I have never been Evangelical. I was Catholic till I was sixteen (I was considering being a nun). I left due to a number of reasons. One being yelling at a priest to stop telling my mother to stay married to an abusive man. Another having LGBT in my family and getting detentions because I disagreed that LGBT people are going to hell. Before PTSD, I used to be...quite vocal.

At sixteen after I was raped, I became atheist. I wanted nothing to do with religion and held onto that for about ten years. Then in 2025, I started questioning all over again. Some things were happening I cannot explain and I just wanted to...open that part of myself up again. But...I did not want to be Christian or go near that ever again.

For whatever reason, I just searched: Can you worship Greek gods?

Now, I have grown up around mentions of Egyptian and Greek gods my entire life. My father has an avid interest in Egypt and the history and by an extent, there was Greek gods. Some of my memories in childhood consist of going to the British Museum and pointing at a mummy and going: "Look!" My father gave me his Alastor Crowley Thoth Tarot cards- do promise this plays a part in one of my gods. If You cannot guess from the name 'Thoth'.

I only worship Greek Gods, so far.

So it has always been in my life. My father and mother are very aware of my altars and I constantly show them anyway. No issues there. As when I left Catholic faith, my mother did too. My father has never been  religious.

Who do I worship? Hades is my patron, Persephone is my matron, Hermes, Dionysus, Ares, Demeter, Charon, Thanatos. I also worship  Apollo and Artemis.

Either way, this blog will be exploring all this! You will find prayers on here that I have written or found :)

Mary x
